Universal screeners are the crucial first step in any intervention process. Similar to how educators collect systematic academic data in the RTI model, behavioral and social emotional universal screeners allow for educators to intervene early and appropriately for those students at risk, leading to a more effective and efficient multi-tiered system of support.
