Dr. Katie Bubak-Azevedo

Dr. Katie Bubak-Azevedo has held a variety of positions such as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, professional development facilitator, and consultant. Her focus is to promote positive learning environments through academic and behavioral strategies that increase the learning and achievement of all students. As Director of the Idaho Positive Behavior Network, Dr. Bubak-Azevedo works in partnership with her team to assist districts and schools in increasing their capacity to provide an integrated systemic approach for meeting the needs of all learners, while utilizing their resources in the most efficient and effective ways. Dr. Bubak-Azevedo also leads Boise State University’s RK-12: Rural Schools Research Project. RK-12 is a $5.7 million research grant from the Comprehensive School Safety Initiative, which is funded by the National Institute of Justice. The aims of RK-12 are to understand the factors associated with the implementation of positive schoolwide changes, and to examine the impact on climate, safety, behavior, and other outcomes for students in rural schools.
